The Sleepover Game
Mandy, Tiffany, and Jill are best friends, aren’t they always?
Life is full of 80s bliss; full of minor shenanigans and a game they made up years ago. One day, while skipping school, the girls witness the Challenger explosion live on television, and from there life begins to change. As the world continues to unravel throughout 1986, the girls begin to interact with the world for the first time. Their seemingly aligned ideologies splinter as Mandy gets further distracted by a romantic fling and stops showing up with and for her friends. The girls must decide what their relationship to the world will be and where their priorities lie.
The Sleepover Game takes the lens of John Hughes’ 80s teen movie and sees what else can be demanded of the genre.
